I remember this from my youth. It was located across from and to the east of Lily Pond. I'm not sure what's there now, maybe Fay's storage yard, or Agway? The remains of a small trestle were still there, last I knew. The locomotive is a German two foot guage 0-4-0T. It looks like one that belonged to Edgar T. Meade over in Vermont, but that's a guess.

It seems this engine is now at Boothbay Railway Village in Maine. It is a German made Henschel.

The general area was across the road from the airport (Rt 11), on the right heading toward Sawyers from Laconia.

Thanks for that link SteveA.
I can picture the trestle you are talking about Tallyho. It goes over a small pond behind the Airport Gas/Deli place right next to Rt. 11.

I worked there as the Ticket Agent and Conductor during the summer of 1972. It was located on Gilford Ave, West of Route 11 and a Department Store named Mamouth Mart, I don't know if that is still there, Can't tell from the Satellite Map. I was told the Locomotive had been a Switch Engine on the docks in Maine or Boston. For the Thomas fans, yes it is a Tank Engine.
