The Nickerson Mts are a subset of the Ossipee Range - a group of several small peaks clustered together in the NE edge of the range. This is a view from within the range (from the Conner Pond Rd), looking nearly due north - several of the most northerly peaks are not visible here. The tallest peak in the cluster is named Grant Peak, seen at the far left here. The old Mt Whittier Ski Area, near the junction of Rtes 25 and 16, used to be located on the easternmost slopes of the Nickerson Mts - it never was on Mt Whittier, which is the next mountain west, 2 miles away. It was, I believe, the only NH ski resort whose chair lift went right over the road (RT 16). Today the old ski area hosts a new sports enterprise called Mt Madness, which advertises itself as 'The Largest Extreme Playground In Mt. Washington Valley'.
