Conner Pond lies near the center of the Ossipee Range, where the sunken volcanic caldera is at a low point. It is 86 acres in size and is 63 ft deep at its deepest spot. Gasoline engines are not allowed. The photo shows some of the Ossipee Range mountains which border it to the north: Bayle Mt has much open ledge and provides a unique perspective of the Ossipee Range, as you get a 360 degree vista as you look up at the much higher outer mountains of the range, which identify the ancient volcano's outer edges. Tho the southern mountains of the range have many hiking trails, Bayle is one of the few mountains with a trail to be found in the northern 3/4 of the range.
