I believe this photograph was probably taken on Launch Day, August 12, 1940. It is my understanding that after the Mount was launched it was towed right away up to the Weirs or Center Harbor to be outfitted and completed.

I was at the launching and yes, she was towed to the Weirs by the workboat "Westwind".

Awesome photo, and the replies to it. Pretty rare photo when you consider the "Mount" probably only looked like this for a short amount of time.
