WOW! Is this in Lakeshore Park? Awesome photos, but this one made the hair stand up on the back of my neck! Yikes those are beady eyes, aren't they?

Pepper,

No, this was in my next door neighbors yard, up near Gilford Village. This bear stayed up in the tree and just "kept an eye" on us. Half the neighborhood showed up...

When he/she decided it was time to leave... we all gave it enough space to wander off into the woods.

It was pretty cool....and not as "scary" as it might seem.

Very nice photo! This must be one of the bears my neighboors talk about -- about a 1+ old? Last summer there was a mother and three cubs in the area. We're about a mile east of you on 11A/Northview.

Love the photo!!!

Lin,

Pics were taken at dusk, several neighbors were taking pictures... my flash was set on "auto" so yes I think most of the pics had the flash on.

I have a collection of about 50 pics. Some mine some the guy next door took..

They get a little blury as we all backed away when he/she came down the tree.

If anyone wants to see more of the pics I'll e-mail them

Thx SteveA

Gravy,

This bear had no cubs "with it" doesn't mean they weren't close by..the pictures were taken on 5-18-05.. in Gilford Forest... right along the Gunstock River that flows thru our neighborhood.
