Are they going what would have been a new speed limit of 45 MPH?

I believe that this view was taken off the Irwin's Winnipesaukee Garden dock, or close by. The hill on the left is Governors Island, and the structure that is visible was the summer residence of the German Ambasador to the US. A distant relative of mine was the caretaker there. The foundation was still there a few years ago. There are similar photos in Blackstones "Farewell Old Mount Washington" book. This information came from my grandmother, who passed away in 1972, at the age of 90. I regret not spending more time listening to her talk about the past.
