This is a view to the southwest. Piper Mt is the long, narrow mountain on the right - its summit ridge runs for about a mile, with much open ledge which provides great views to the south and west. This makes it a popular mountain with local hikers. Swett Mt is the lower peak that runs southerly off the end of Piper - it provides more intimate views down onto the Manning Lake - Crystal Lake area. A trail of about 2 miles leads across the entire length of Piper and on to Swett - unfortunately there is no loop trail back and you have to return along the same path.
