The large cell tower on its summit area makes Mt Rowe fairly easy to pick out from the skyline. Note the section of road leading up to the tower - this was once the old Try-Me-Trail of the Gunstock Recreation Area of a generation or two earlier. Also seen, to the right of the road, is the 60-meter ski jump tower that once hosted well-attended ski jump competitions featuring some of the finest ski-jumping competitors of the day. How many remember Torger Tokle, who thrilled spectators here with spectacular jumps in the '40's'?
