Here's the cave interior - we see how the back wall has been rather skillfully blocked up with carefully laid stones, fitted together remarkably tightly. A framework of lashed-up small tree boles has been used to place boards on (some now missing) and a section of stone wall has been placed across the front - to provide protection from the elements and perhaps to camouflage the retreat.Perhaps the small ladder was used to climb to the top of the boulders.
