Welch Island enters the picture from the left. With a close look between the photographer and the tip of Welch you can just make out the light that marks the shallows south of Timber Island (just out of view to the left). It's a good bet that the captain has had his eye on this since he left Eagle Island in his wake. This marker must pass close on his port to avoid another light on his starboard that will warn him off the Witches. The opening between these two lights is not much more than the length of the Mount.
