A 28' Donzi burned almost to the water line at approximately 4:00 PM on July 26, 2005 between Ship Island and Minge Cove. Fortunately no one was injured.

I think it a good idea to have a fuel fume detector installed in the engine compartment area of every boat. Where gasoline is involved, a smoke detector would be next to useless.... A gasoline fume detector could be installed so as to prevent the opperater from starting the engine, in the first place.
