Great photo - one of the only pictures I've seen taken of Winter Harbor from the north to the south. I used to live just to the left of Carry Beach. On a sad note, this may be one of the last pictures taken of the Lakes Region Airport - it is soon to fall to developers. Thanks again, big time.

It is a remarkable photograph, and it's a lot busier Winter Harbor than I've seen lately.
In 2006, the airport (the clearing at center-right) was "hydro-seeded", which replaced the original native grasses making it much greener in appearance than this photo.
My pilot-dad says the developer's removal of old-growth forest at Johnson's Cove has made the airport's runway a much better landing strip! As of 2009, however, the development is in foreclosure. It'd make a good airport.
