From Lake Winnipesaukee, I have this same view of Mt. Shaw. Many mornings, a heavy cloud of fog rises from Mirror Lake and defines the three usually-indistinct peaks very close to Mt. Shaw.
I have this same post card: the colors in this Photopost are better!

ApS, just wondering... Have you ever been to the summit of Mount Shaw (2990 feet above sea level?)...

With my bad knee, I could hike about ½-way up. Friends who were much faster hikers continued to the summit. I'd backpacked a folding chair and a stack of unread magazines. My now-married friends told me there was no good view of the lake, but the view north was outstanding. (And that the trail suddenly turned extremely rough just out of sight of the spot I'd chosen to read my magazines).
