I'm not as close as this looks (about 75 yds away - 10 x lens) - the last time a bear killed a human in NH was in the late 1700's, but everyone should have a deep respect for the power of this animal. Only a very rare bear would be apt to be aggressive, but such a bear could be extremely dangerous. Wild animals 'like their space' and intruding on his 'comfort zone' would be a very bad idea. The most likely thing he would do is turn and run, but one can never be sure how 'your' bear might react. If you're lucky enough to meet him on his own ground, enjoy the experience from a respectful distance.
