It's early spring and the mating ritual begins. These 2 toms were facing off in the woods, with several apparently disinterested hens nearby. Toms provide some bright coloration in an otherwise drab spring scene - note the patriotic head coloring. The blacks, bronzes & greens have quite a sheen in the right light.
