Nice card Just Sold. I wonder why it is called Mesquito Bridge, a local name?

That's the old bridge that went over Lake Winnisquam, officially called the Mesquito Bridge, If I had to guess the image is looking towards the south. Not shown in the picture would be the "Jumping Jack Restaurant" that was accessible by boat or auto. Sea-Plane rides were also available at that location at one time. Again guessing? and also not shown if this is looking south, behind the bridge would be Wadleigh's Marine.



The new bridge has only three pylons compared to the old one that had four. From the side walk, above, on the "new bridge" you can still see the old pylons / footings that supported the old bridge. When the new bridge was put in to the north of the old one, they used some of the land that the "Jumping Jack Restaurant " once sat on more or less forcing it to close down.
