from "History of the Town of Wolfeborough" Benjamin Franklin Parker - A facsimile of the 1901 edition published by the Wolfeboro Historical Society. "The Main Street of Wolfeborough in front of the Peavey Block looked like this at the time the first edition of Parker's History appeared. The block then housed a barber shop (complete with bath), the Post Office, a cobbler's shop, a men's clothing and furnishings store, a grocery store, a physician's office, a piano studio and, as today, apartments on the upper floors."
