The light blue or gray car appears to be a 1953 Plymouth/Dodge and the white car is a 52 or 53 Buick.

Thanks guys for dating those cars. This card is really 'rich'. As I examine it more closely.... note that on the upper right, above the white and then the greenish car is the seaplane pictured here in another card. http://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopo...cat=500&page=3
Are there any town docks? I also get a kick out of the woman in the red dress. Behind her is a man with a 'sea captain's' hat on. Behind him a rather LARGE white 'cabin cruiser'. Also, catch the red hot rod between the white building and the '53 gray Plymouth/Dodge. Very cool!

In answer to your question there wasn't a "town" dock as we have today only a parrallel pier which as I remember was not for boat docking. Mr. Downing who owned the pictured Land Ho left money in his will, in the 60's, for the construction of the town docks we now have. They were added to a number of years later for more space.
The red car is a stock 49-51 Ford or Mercury Coupe of which many were made into Lead Sled Hot Rods and were featured in movies.
Also note the old "Woody" next to the 40's era black GM coupe.
I think the white with black top car is a 52 or 53 Buick.
I wonder if the mahogany boat with the writing on the side is the speed boat?

I remember this scene quite well. The mahogany boat is the"Legionaire" which was a ride boat. The gentleman on the left is most likely Lester Downing, the owner. I don't think I ever saw him without that hat on! Just think, this area is now a parking lot. Not an improvement in my opinion.
