Red Hill got its name for it's color in the fall - perhaps primarily for the reddish fall coloring of its blueberry plants and its scattered oak trees when large portions of it were pasture in the 1800's. Note the large house high up on its SW slope - the LRCT owns the majority of the mountain (over 2000 A.), but there are a number of private holdings still.
