Sea Plane in Alton Bay! A rare postcard find. No date. The cars look rather old but it looks like the new bridge. It appears to be the old Emerson (McGrath's) store and barn before Gillan Marine was there. An old speed boat dock appears on either side of the bridge.

The card is from the mid 50's and McGrath's store was in full operation. In addition to the speedboat rides, you could take about a 20 minute plane ride around the Bay in that red seaplane. It was based where Downings boat ramp is today.
