Mcdude - The right side looks correct as the Post Office I remembr from my youth but the rest is obviously not what was there then (1960) and now. Even the side with the lower level windows and doors are a memory I remember seeing. Never heard of any stories of another building being there though.

Great picture!! MaGrath's grocery/hardware store was here for many years before it burned down. MaGrath built the present building but moved to Alton shortly thereafter to their present location. Yes, this is the site, but not the building, where Gilman Marine is today.

W. P. Emerson was my grandfather. Did any of you get to see the presentation at the historical society on August 16th at the Gilman Library?
