Just before the Blue Heron touches down for landing (in a "stall" condition), watch the feathers on the back of their wings. A few large feathers will appear to flutter out of place.
Just before landing, aircraft pilots are also alerted to this "stall condition" . Aircraft pilots receive a signal from the wings as well—but it's an audible "engineered" signal sent to the cockpit.
