The Pebble was Tom Plant's ironic name for this huge glacial erratic, which is the size of a small house. When he had this entrance road built to his 'castle', he chose to have the road go on the side of the boulder that was within feet of a dropoff to the brook. A later owner rerouted the road to the other side, as drivers with large cars disliked the narrow passage of the original routing. As a way to judge the boulder's size, the sign on a tree to the left is about 4.5' off the ground.
