Most of the peaks here are of the Ossipee Mts. Red Hill and Morgan (Squam Range) at the left are exceptions. Bald Knob is a large ledge that sticks out of the S side of Turtleback Mt - for hundreds of years it has served as a stellar viewing spot for Indians when they lived here and, later, for the early white settlers and those following to this day. Black Snout is a southern peak of Mt Shaw, where great views to the S are had, and Shaw itself provides the best views of peaks to the north in the Lakes Region. Mt Flagg also provides fine views to the N, while Canaan and Dan Hole Mts offer lesser viewing opportunities. View from Ledge Hill Rd in Tuftonboro.
