I think this might be a six spotted fishing spider. Did you find it on your dock?

Closest water is my pond 50 yards away. It was right outside the front door of our log home. I went onto http://www.whatsthatbug.com/ (cool site) and couldn't match it up.

We had one of those on our farmer's porch last Summer. I had to get rid of it before anyone would use that door.
