Among the many stone chairs built by hikers across the mile-long summit ridge of Piper Mt, this is probably the largest. It is probably seldom seen, as it has been erected some distance from the trail in a naturally open, ledgy area within the thick spruce forest that covers much of the summit. While sitting in it you get a good view off to the west of some of the major peaks of west-central NH.
