This is part of the Shannon Brook Trail at Castle in the Clouds, used in the winter as the southern access to the Castle trails for snowmobiling. This particular spot features the red snow fence along the side, to alert the snowmobilers to a potentially dangerous, very steep dropoff of many feet down to Shannon Brook below. The trail was once part of an old carriage road and is fairly wide and can accomodate snowmobile traffic quite well.
