This mishap could have been prevented by using carbide runners on the ski's! Check and replace worn carbides before venturing out on the trails.
Most are aware of the pre-season ice storm this year and there will be ice under the snow pack on the trails. The snow pack tends to get worn on turns and hills and is solid ice underneath.
Just be safe everyone and enjoy the season.
