A photo taken in Dec of last year. A telephoto shot from Caverly mountain to the south to the southeastern shore of Merrymeeting Lake, showing the South Shore Rd and some of the cottages along it. Above the shore and the road is Birch Ridge - a major development is being proposed for the high ground shown here, which should create a significant change to the viewscape of Merrymeeting Lake and the surrounding area, not to mention potential degradation of the lake and a significant alteration of the ambiance of the lake communtity.
