Mt Monadnock is said to be the most climbed mountain in NH. It has been a popular climb since the mid-1800's. At 3165' of elevation it is the tallest mountain by far in the southern section of the state. It is about 56 miles from Whiteface Mt. Crotched Mt is 2055' high and is noted for the ski area on its northern slopes. It is about 42 miles south of Whiteface Mt. Pack Monadnock (2280') has a lookout tower on its peak. It is about 1.75 mi SW of N. Pack Monadnock (2257') - a trail joins the two peaks. What we see is a blending of these 2 mountains. Mostly we see N Pack Monadnock, but a little piece of the summit of Pack Monadnock shows on the left side of the mountain profile. N Pack Monadnock is about 48 mi SW of Whiteface Mt. Lamprey Hill is a local mountain, immediately south of Whiteface.
