Mt Jesse, in New Durham, is situated at the easterly end of Merrymeeting Lake. A substantial house is visible on its summit from areas of high ground at many places in the Lakes Region. The photo shows that a great deal of glass is placed on the northerly side of the house to take advantage of the remarkable views that can be seen from Jesse's summit of Merrymeeting Lake and many of the major peaks of the White Mts, from Mt Moosilauke in the westerly part of the state to Mt LaFayette in the northerly part to Mt Washington in the easterly part. Photo taken from the summit of Caverly Mt, a bit over 2 miles away.
