The photo shows a view of the cliffs of West Rattlesnake Mt on the NW shore of Squam Lake. A historic old trail, the Old Bridle Path, provides an easy ascent to the top of these cliffs where one finds impressive views of Squam Lake and surrounding mountains - thousands of hikers annually trek this relatively easy trail (.9 mi long with an elevation gain of about 400') in all seasons of the year - it's a popular snowshoe track in winter. Visitors have to be careful tho, especially with children, for the cliffs are very steep and must be over 100' high. The twin peaks in the far right background are the 2 summits of Mt Israel, featured in a photo posted a few days ago.
