Kings Highway, in Middleton/New Durham, connects Middleton to Wolfeboro. At the left is seen part of the westerly section of Merrymeeting Lake. A ridge of low hills seen just behind the lake separates Merrymeeting from the Alton Bay section of Winnipesaukee - Merrymeeting is nearly due east of the bay. In the background are mountains that lie immediately west of Alton Bay. Mt Bet, on the far right, is a lakeside mountain on the northwesterly shore of Merrymeeting.
