This loon kept pausing for my camera as if she wanted to say something. She was hurting from the fish hook.

ouch, that looks painful. We picked up several hooks and lures this summer off the islands up by Greene's basin while we were fishing. I would hope others do to. Every little bit helps the wildlife and people who might tangle with the stray hooks. Did you call this in to the loon center to let them know? they could possibly try to catch it and remove it.
