Sunday I posted a picture of a luxury mansion recently built on Piper Mt - as seen from the south from Whiteface Mt. On Monday I climbed to an open ledge high up on the west side of Gunstock to attempt to get a view from the other side, in this case from the NE. Unfortunately most of the facing side of the house was in deep shadow and the results are not very good. You can see that the side of the house facing northerly (over the lake to the White Mountains) shows 3 stories that are mostly glass, to take full advantage of the excellent views to be had from that angle. Near the side of the house we're looking directly at you can see large piles of wood, some worked up into fire wood and some logs still needing to be worked on - the house is heated, in part at least, by a large outside wood-burning furnace, which unfortunately doesn't seem to show up in the photo.
