From what I remember being told by Walter Piper the camp ground had another fire in the 1920's. After he was burned out he bought a parcel just below Peggy's cove. Passed up Sandy Point for $100 because it got too many storms across it. Right after that the point was bought and Sandy Point Resort was started.
