Middle Mt is a 2190 ft mountain (viewable from Winipesaukee) on the Castle property. It is one of only 2 peaks on the property that seem never to have had a trail to their summits. Curious as to why, I bushwhacked to the top yesterday to see what the summit was like. There are potentially some grand views, as hinted at in this photo, but when the leaves are out, little will be seen. Here we are looking over the top of Turtleback Mt (.5 miles to the south) to the lake and the Belknaps. Note the reflections of the Gunstock slopes on the open water of Winnipesaukee, which there seems to be quite a bit of. Perhaps someday the views from this mountain will be made available to hikers.
