Round Pond is a 30-acre, high-altitude (1100 ft higher in elevation than Winnipesaukee) backcountry pond, nestled in a high meadow amongst 4 Belknap Range mountains (Suncook, Heator, Klem and Mack). It is 'surrounded by spruce, sheep laurel, and cotton grass — boreal vegetation that gives this southern New Hampshire location a real North Woods feel'. It is situated near the middle of the range, which makes it rather isolated, but has 5 different trails leading to it from all sides except the west. Many think it is a spot of exceptional beauty and solitude. Two trails lead from the pond to the summit of Mt Klem (left) or Mt Mack (center), both of which provide fine views of the Lakes Region. Klem (2001ft) offers fine views to the north and east, and Mack (1945 ft) provides fine views to the south and west.
