UNH, in conjunction with NOAA, has 4 sites in NH with weather monitoring stations like this one, located at a remote spot on Castle property. Their research focuses on the analysis of real-time climate data, and on the development of new air quality monitoring programs, with the intention of producing data that can be used to address New England's changing climate and air quality. Other such stations are at: top of Mt Washington, Isle of Shoals off the coast, and UNH in Durham. A local immediate benefit is the web cam pictures produced by the camera on the mast that holds several weather and air quality monitoring instruments. Their web address is http://www.airmap.sr.unh.edu/data/da...?site=AIRMAPCS.

DCR - Thanks for the photo and informaion on the study. It brings back many memories. I spent a number of years working for a company that did environmental studies and actually ran sites such as this.
By the way do you have their web site address?
