On a day when weather conditions make shots of long vistas impractical, one turns to the close at hand. This is a photo of a small piece of Shannon Brook just below Shannon Pond, where the terrain was tame enough for settlers in the late 1700's to change it from woods to farmland - the remnants of one such fog-bound field makes the background of this picture.
