On the east slope of Mt Major there's a large rockfall, from the top of which one can get a fine view easterly. Looking to the left, over Rattlesnake Island, you see Mt Shaw and the Ossipees. At left center, a line just right of Moose Island leads you to Green Mt. A line over Fort Point leads you to Copple Crown on the horizon. And a line a little left of Echo Point leads you to Mt Bet, the dominant mountain on the northen shores of Merrymeeting Lake.
