We got to see this cool looking Camp Alton truck as we were leaving the Olde Bay Diner.

This it the VW Type-II "pickup truck". (Fold-down sides with storage below were featured). A crew-cab to seat four was available. Another accessory was a Conestoga wagon-style canvas cover for the bed. 36-horsepower—Woo-Hoo!

This has the "export" (US-version) large bumpers. The only upgrade I can see is the Porsche 356 wheel rims and hubcaps. Based on the turn signals, I'd put the vintage at between 1962 and 1967—the last year of the "Split-Windshield" models.

One with 110,000 miles on it—in Ossipee—recently sold to a buyer in Britain for $11,000. (So I guess my offer of $600 was dismissed ). A pristine camper version of the VW Type II sold to a buyer in Japan for $45,000—and that was 20 years ago!

Is it
"Common Sense" isn't.
