The True farm in Holderness is reported to have been established before the American Revolution, which suggests that this house was built before 1775. Perhaps some parts of it are additions to the original structure - certainly the relatively modern attached greenhouse is fairly recent (there seem to be some colorful plants growing in it, even in late December). In its earliest days it also served as an inn for travelers along the Holderness to Sandwich road.
