Description: This Polyphemus Moth was found with another one on Rattlesnake Island. They are nocturnal, but were out during they day. They could not fly, just flopped around on the ground. I do not know if they were dying or if it was too bright. Their bodies were huge and heavy. They had about a 6" wingspan.

Description: Two of these nocturnal moths were found on Rattlesnake Island. They could not fly. Not sure if it was because it was too bright or if they might have been dying. They are so body heavy! About 6" across.
