The third deck and aluminum roof have been added, and the life boats have been removed. The black hulled vessell in the davits was a Grumman motorboat that was used as a launch for emergency purposes. The lifeboat style boats were removed sometime in the early 1950's. The stern and fantail area of the Mount were open aired and not enclosed as the Mount looks today. In addition the Mount is only 205 feet long in this photo. The Mount was cut in half and a 25' pre-fabricated hull section was added in 1983. carguy Thu, 28 Sep 2006 16:41:15 +0000 Mount Pre-WWII circa. 1941 https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10275 <a href="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10275" target="_blank"><img title="MT1941.jpg" border="0" src="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/data/511/thumbs/MT1941.jpg" alt="MT1941.jpg" /></a><br /><br />by: carguy<br /><br />Description: SS MT WASHINGTON II pictured at Alton Bay. This is how the Mount looked when she was first put into service (late 1940 or 1941). Notice the plume of smoke from the stack. The Mount had steam boilers and engines prior to WWII. The pilot house is on the second deck. In 1946 the Pilot house was moved to the third deck in order to provide better visability. In this photo, the third deck does not have any passenger seating or aluminum roof on the third deck. This was not added until 1951. carguy Thu, 28 Sep 2006 16:30:31 +0000 Pepper and Mac https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10249 <a href="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10249" target="_blank"><img title="spindle_point.jpg" border="0" src="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/data/15087/thumbs/spindle_point.jpg" alt="spindle_point.jpg" /></a><br /><br />by: carguy carguy Wed, 27 Sep 2006 00:30:41 +0000 Raffle Time at FFIII https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10248 <a href="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10248" target="_blank"><img title="Raffle1.jpg" border="0" src="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/data/15087/thumbs/Raffle1.jpg" alt="Raffle1.jpg" /></a><br /><br />by: carguy<br /><br />Description: Forum Members hoping for their ticket to be a winner in the FFIII Raffle Drawing carguy Wed, 27 Sep 2006 00:29:48 +0000 Interior of LSP Pavilion https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10247 <a href="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10247" target="_blank"><img title="pavilion1.JPG" border="0" src="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/data/15087/thumbs/pavilion1.JPG" alt="pavilion1.JPG" /></a><br /><br />by: carguy<br /><br />Description: View of interior of Pavilion at LSP showing the large brick fireplace carguy Wed, 27 Sep 2006 00:28:11 +0000 Members at FFIII https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10246 <a href="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10246" target="_blank"><img title="islandgirl2.JPG" border="0" src="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/data/15087/thumbs/islandgirl2.JPG" alt="islandgirl2.JPG" /></a><br /><br />by: carguy<br /><br />Description: From L to R: Sunset Bob, Just Sold, and Island Girl get together at the FFIII<br /><br />1 comment carguy Wed, 27 Sep 2006 00:26:53 +0000 Pavilion at Lake Shore Park - venue of Forum Fest III Sept. 24, 2006 https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10231 <a href="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10231" target="_blank"><img title="Pavilion.jpg" border="0" src="https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/data/15087/thumbs/Pavilion.jpg" alt="Pavilion.jpg" /></a><br /><br />by: carguy<br /><br />Description: The Pavilion at Lake Shore Park.
