Description: The picture was taken in the 1920's with the Irwin owned and operated Winnipesaukee Gardens in the background. The boats are likely powered by "Fronty-Ford" engines that were custom built for boats. These engines were Model T engines tricked out by the Chevrolet brothers with new cylinder heads. (The brothers sold their name and car company to GM in 1917 but were still 'messing around with cars and engines.)

Description: Taken during an afternoon during a break in the racing in the 1920's. Possibly Wolfeboro or Weirs. Picture is of the judges raft set up in the middle of a race course. The happy faces are likely of the racers enjoying more than the free lunch as prohibition was in full swing and the judges raft was known for serving more than just meals (!)

Wild Oats

Description: A very busy Saturday afternoon at the Weirs in 1920's. The boat in the center, "Wild Oats", was powered by a Liberty V-12 and was a stepped hull. Originally made by Chris-Craft, they stripped all markings off the boat because it didn't run well and Jim Irwin ended up buying it.
