I actually missed the most colorful part of the sunset but still love this shot. The picture still hangs on the wall on Rattlesnake rgilfert Tue, 17 Apr 2012 13:07:42 +0000 Lobster and Steamers https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=18536

by: rgilfert

Description: on the Dock..an Annual Tradition! (Aug 1977) The boathouse opening was only a few inches wider than the boat itself...and given the Coronado's undersized rudder it was virtually impossible to steer at headway speed. The predominate NW wind would frequently catch the boat's freeboard and blow you towards the huge submerged rock beneath the right hand boathouse door. The only way to shoehorn the boat in was to come in "hot" and bang it into reverse. Every year my Grandfather would nail the previous year's license plate to the wall inside the boathouse and when we sold the place in 1984 we had every plate between the year 1919 and 1984 other than one of the WWII years when gasoline wasn't available for recreational use. I wish that I had taken the collection with me when we sold the place! rgilfert Tue, 17 Apr 2012 13:06:32 +0000 Wawbeek From Air https://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=18533

by: rgilfert

Description: Our Dock is just seen at the bottom side of cove and the Wawbeek Docks are on the top side (Aug 1977). I took this shot that coincidentally includes the Rattlesnake property that we purchased last fall....what are the odds?

1 comment rgilfert Tue, 17 Apr 2012 13:05:24 +0000
