Description: Photo of Greystone Motel on Scenic Road in Gilford and old postcard from Greystone, NH. Greystone was also a whistlestop on the Lakeshore RR. Could Greystone have been a village in Gilford??? Description: I always assumed that where the Lakeshore RR crossed Main Street there was a grade crossing. I was surprised to run across this image and learn there was a bridge over the tracks. Description: In the Lakeshore Railroad post, Rose responded and told us that the old railroad station at Ames Farm had been moved across the street and is now used as a guest cottage....here it is! Right on Rt. 11 in Gilford. Compare to this old photo http://www.lightlink.com/sglap3/newhampshire/amesbw2.jpg It's obviously been added on to.
