Over 200 pages and 200 black and white photos of forgotten Lake Winnipesaukee history!
In the 1920s and 1930s there was a seaplane base at the Weirs. Fabric-covered biplanes on pontoons flew passengers over the lakes and mountains. Famous local aviator Bob Fogg started the business in 1923 with a WWI surplus Curtiss flying boat, and there were Wacos, Travel Airs, and even a twin-engine Sikorsky amphibian.
If you think you know the history of Lake Winnipesaukee and haven't read this book, then you're missing a great piece of the lake history.
Buy local-written by local author whose grandfather was one of the pilots, and published by a NH publisher. Call, email or contact author through Winni Forum private message. Also available in local bookstores and museums.
