1962 Squall by Chestnut Hill. This is the original Squall before Boston Whaler bought out the Chestnut Hill Company. The boat was advertised as unsinkable like the Boston Whalers and was a multi purpose boat able to sail, row, row two at a time, or motor with up to a 4hp motor. My dad bought the boat new from Channel Marine in 1962. After I learned to sail and row, my dad bought a 3.9 hp Mercury for the boat.
The boat needs restoration as it has been stored under several tarps for over 20 years. It feels heavy so it may have accumulated some water in the sandwich construction. It comes with the original rudder and dagger board (with added weight for stability) and a pair of oars. The sail went missing years ago unfortunately, however I understand it is the exact same sail as a Sunfish. Unfortunately, I don't feel up to restoring it, but someone willing to take this on could have a great boat for kids to learn to sail, row and motor or just use as a dinghy.
The boat is on my power boat trailer on Weirs Blvd..It is functional, but needs some fiberglass work to restore it properly. If ad is up, boat is available!
